Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii to a mother from Kansas, Stanley Ann Dunham, and a father from Kenya, Barack Obama Sr and was also raised by his grandfather.
Barack Obama was only 2 years when his parents got divorced. He spent the majority of his childhood with his mother and stepfather, Lolo Soetoro and later with his maternal grandparents in Hawaii.
He did his main schooling from Occidental College in Los Angeles, Columbia University in New York, and later, Harvard Law School with scholarship and student loans.

It was not an easy road for him to reach such heights. Hence he was a teacher and civil-rights lawyer. Later, he was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 1996, serving from 1997 to 2004. Hence in 2008, he was elected as the President of America and was re-elected again in 2012 against the Republican opponent Mitt Romney.
Obama’s previous jobs:-
He worked at law firms, as a telemarketer, in construction and even sold island trinkets in Hawaii. Since Obama had worked for many private companies, from Baskin-Robbins to Business International Corporation.

He was very much inspired by Mohandas Gandhi,Martin Luther King Jr, Pablo Picasso, and John Coltrane.
He is a prodigious reader and he likes to have a variety of books. His favorite books are Toni Morrison’s Song of Solomon and Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. Apparently he has read everyHarry Potter book (with Malia, his eldest daughter of course!). He once wrote a book review for the Chicago Tribune, in December 1997, reviewing a book by William Ayers.

Kenya, the country were Obama’s father Barack Obama, Sr. was born, is really fond of Barack Obama. Hence they dedicated and named a beer called “Senator Keg”, affordable and highly popular beer in Kenya.

Like others, Obama also de-stresses with a movie sometimes. Some of his favorite movies are Lawrence of Arabia, Casablanca, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and The Godfather. Hence most of his favorite movies are Oscar winners. He loves listening to Jay Z, Rolling Stones and Stevie Wonder.

In an interview in 2008, he admitted that he loves collecting comics. Conan the Barbarian and Spider-Man are among his favorite ones. He has appeared in 22 comics since 2007.

Obama’s admitted to have experimented with marijuana and cocaine as a teenager. Rumor has it that he once promised his beloved wife that he hadquit smoking before running for President but he never did. But He finally quit smoking habit in 2010 in order to be a good father

Obama stayed in Indonesia for about 5 years from the age of 6-10 yrs. While he was there he got to feast on some local delicacies like dog meat, snake meat and grasshopperdog meat, and even housed a pet ape named “Tata”. He is a big fan of basketball. Hence he was called as “O’Bomber” for his basketball skills. Obama had posters of Dr.J i.e. Julius Erving in his bedroom.
