Facebook presented person to person payments within messenger in early 2015. But today the company announced the feature is growing to support groups. The payment feature basically works the similar in group chats as in private ones. But now permits users to pay either everybody in the group or single members through a click of the payment icon.
Facebook Messenger Gets Group Payment Support
Facebook has launched the group payment features inside Facebook messenger app. It allows users to pay either everyone in the group or individual members. Available on android and desktop as of now, group payments has been live in the US since Tuesday.
User can also request payments from the group present in the chat, Facebook Specified in a Blog post. Users can specify the amount they want to request from each person or the total amount to be divided evenly by the group members. They can also mention the reason about the payment that for what purpose it will be use.

In Explaining how to use this feature, Facebook said, “Just click on the plus sign in bottom left hand corner of a group conversation to find more features and click on the payment icon ($). Then select who to send or request money from. You can take everyone in the group or only a few members. Enter amount you want to request per person or total sum to divide evenly, either including yourself in the calculation or not. Finally, you canstatethat, reason of the money, that is for may be a pizza party, teacher gift or any more. Once you are ready tap request.”
“To make it super simple to keep track of everything, a message will appear in the group conversation showing who has paid. At any time, you can also view the Request Details in full-screen.”
A free service, group payments in the Facebook Messenger does not require users to remember their debit card information which the company says is stored securely.
Till now Facebook supported person to person payments simply among two people on Messenger. But from today the firm is increasing the support to groups as well.
