Google silently launched its Hangouts Meet. Its a video conferencing service which is focused on the enterprise business backed by its Hangouts Messaging service. Google splitted its Hangouts service into two parts now officially as ‘Hangouts Meet’ and with text-based messaging service ‘Hangouts Chat’. The Hangouts Meet app is already available on both Apple App Store and Google Play. But one to note is Hangouts Chat is specifically a G Suite product. Hangout chat accessed through search giant’s Early Adopter Program.

‘Hangouts Meet’ Video Conferencing
Meet Google Hangouts Meet. It was already a video conferencing service. But it is now aimed to reduce the issues that are generally faced by groups and simplifying while organising a video meeting. Hence, Google’s official Blog post quotes “That’s why we’ve built Hangouts Meet to have a light, fast interface and smart participant management,”.
In Hangouts Meet, users can start a video conference meeting just by sharing a link to the participants instead of going through multiple tasks. Hence, it is not like creating an account first, installing a plugin, or downloading something else. Hangouts Meet is also available as web site at https://meet.google.com/. G Suite Basic and Business provides video meetings with up to 25 people. While the G Suite Enterprise provides up to 30 people.
‘Hangouts Chat’ Messaging
The new Hangouts Chat is for team messaging. It conveys that the application. It will offer threaded conversations and virtual ‘rooms‘ to chat with others, similar to Slack and Microsoft’s Team. Hangout Chat, deeply integrated with Google Drive. It means that all shared content from Google’s Drive and Docs, or photos and videos can be viewed directly in conversations. Messages in chat are all searchable with advanced parameters. @meet Bot, chat robot in Hangout Chat to autotask team meetings, schedules, connectivity and integration with other third party apps.
Hangouts Chat comes with support for bots, including @meet bot that makes use of machine learning to automatically schedule meetings for the team, and integration with third-party applications to provide more functionality to the users. However Google is working with Asana, Box, Prosperworks, and Zendesk to build up the platform.

Although, Google’s social messaging strategy can be confusing. But there’s one clear thing message after, is that the company is placing its Hangouts messaging platform for its enterprise customers and Allo/Duo apps for general public.
