YouTube has made major changes to its advertising policy. Now ads will not be shown on those channels, whose views are less than 10,000, i.e. even if you are thinking of making money from youtube, then this work will not be easy for you anymore.

The company has taken this step to stop users who make money through pirated videos. YouTube of Alphabet Inc said on Thursday that as soon as the channel crosses the 10,000 views, then the content will be reviewed and ads will be placed.

However, this policy will not apply to older channels already existing. Youtube Product Management Vice President Ariel Bardin said in a blog post that with keeping the 10,000 views limit, we will also ensure that new and ambitious users do not have a bad effect.

The blog post also states that users who apply for the YouTube Partner Program will also reviewed.

Why did YouTube do this?

People have started uploading their videos around the world because of the YouTube Partnership Program. There were also some people among those who had started uploading videos of others on their channel.

Occasionally such videos would have crossed the figure up to million. YouTube has made changes in its partnership program to deal with such people.

Ariel Bardin, Product management vice president, Youtube said in a blog post “This new threshold gives us enough information to determine the validity of a channel.” He added “It also allows us to confirm if a channel is following our community guidelines properly and advertiser policies.”

“Together, these new thresholds will help ensure revenue only flows to creators who are playing by the rules.” Bardin said.

According to Bardin, Youtube plans to add a review process for YouTube soon. Bardin said, “New creators who want to channel as part of a partner program in channel-creation video sharing service”.
